About

The soul is a dark place….I am not afraid of the dark.

My name is Edward Evans and I create dark art. I use traditional techniques such as painting, drawing, and photography. I then mix it up digitally using a heavy editing process. I like to explore the darker side of the soul using nature, textures and the human form. All work needed to create these pieces is created by me-I do not use stock photography or images from websites. I believe in creating art that is made up of visual elements that I have been a part of-a walk in a forest will reveal textures, smells, emotions and feelings-I can then re-create these feelings by capturing the moments photographically, and working further on them digitally. I am inspired by the world around me, from the heavy industrial workings of a dock yard, to the serenity of a forest, to the inner workings of a gun. I am also inspired by music and everything from Nine Inch Nails to Frank Turner to Future Sound of London can be heard at various times of the day in my office. I hope you enjoy my work-if you wish to contact me about anything on this site, please use the contact form.

Please remember, all work is copyright to me (see notice below) and any use without permission granted is forbidden. All images presented here are of a lower quality and size than the originals. Sorry about the need for the watermark, but with the internet being a free for all nowadays, it was necessary.
